2025 European Rowing Championships in Plovdiv (BUL)

A gold rush by Great Britain and Germany saw the British storm to the top of the medal standings at the end of the 2025 European Rowing Championships (29th May to 01st June).
A series of close races brought the championships to an end on a high, with a number of historic medals across the events contested on Sunday and more European Championship best times (EChBTs) broken.
Great Britain finished the regatta with six golds, a silver and two bronze medals, ahead of Germany with five golds and one silver.
The 2025 European Rowing Championships in Plovdiv featured intense competition across multiple boat classes, with several world best and European Championship best times set. Romania, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, and other nations all secured medals in various events. Ukraine’s Anna Sheremet won the PR1 women’s single sculls, while Great Britain’s Benjamin Pritchard set a world best time in the PR1 men’s single sculls. Germany broke the seven-minute barrier in the PR3 mixed double sculls. Romania and Italy had strong performances in the women’s and men’s pairs, and lightweight single sculls titles were won by athletes from Austria and Germany. The women’s and men’s quadruple sculls and eights races were closely contested, with Great Britain and the Netherlands frequently battling for gold. Germany also claimed multiple titles, including the PR2 mixed doubles and lightweight men’s double sculls. The championships ended with Great Britain leading the medal table, followed by Germany.
