The 2025 GKA Big Air Kite World Cup kicked off in Barcares, France, on Saturday, with the Tramontana wind roaring at full force

Twenty-four men and twelve womenbattled fiercely, not just for the prestigious Lords of Tram event title but also for the 2025 GKA Big Air Kite World Championship. The results from Jericoacoara 2024 and Lords of Tram 2025 will determine this year’s ultimate champion.

Ideal conditions set the stage for a breathtaking aerial spectacle in the most thrilling kitesurfing discipline—Big Air Twin Tip. Riders launched themselves up to 25 meters into the sky, propelled by the powerful Tramontana wind, which swept offshore from the snow-covered Pyrenees across the lagoon of Barcarès.

In the women’s competition, Brazil’s Mikaili Sol proved unstoppable. After already dominating in Jericoacoara, she once again delivered an outstanding performance in Barcarès, securing a well-deserved world championship title.

On the men’s side, Italy’s Andrea Principi claimed victory at the Lords of Tram event, while Spain’s Lorenzo Casati took second place. With this runner-up finish in France, Casati secured the overall GKA Big Air Twin Tip Kite World Championship title.
