Absa Cape Epic 2021: The toughest mountain bike stage race of the world
Also this year, the Cape Epic leads through the impressive landscapes of the Western Cape of South Africa once again. The riders will tackle around 700 kilometres and 16.000 metres of climbing consisting of many single tracks and technical terrains. With Jordan Sarrou (FRA) (World Champion in Cross Country) / Matthew Beers (RSA), Alan Hatherly (RSA) / Simon Andreassen (DEN), Christoph Sauser (SUI)(XCM World Champion) / Alex Malacarne (BRA) the world’s best riders will be competing against each other in the men’s event. With Sina Frei (SUI) (Olympics Silver medal cross country 2021, short track world champion 2021) / Laura Stigger (AUT), Jennie Stenerhag (SWE)(Cape Epic winner 2017) / Amy McDougall (RSA), the absolute elite is ready to fight for the Cape Epic victory in the women’s race.
