Red Bull Cliff diving in Guatemalan jungle
In preparation for the highly anticipated 2023 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series
In preparation for the highly anticipated 2023 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series season opener in Boston (USA), on June 3, current and former World Series champions Rhiannan Iffland from Australiaand Mexico’s Jonathan Paredes look to experience the essence of the sport on an adventurous expedition across Guatemala’s versatile landscapes.
Joined by Colombian legend Orlando Duque, the three undertake a stunning 1500-kilometre cliff hunt, from Guatemala’s Caribbean coast to the Atlantic Ocean. Their journey leads them to three pure and rugged diving spots, taking leaps of faith into the canyon of Rio Dulce at the and into Lake Atitlán (1560m above sea level) surrounded by three massive volcanoes. The final diving location in the Central American country is the most challenging spot: Leaping off between the country’s tallest waterfalls at Los Amates with only a very limited landing area in the water makes this a very special experience at the end of their expedition. Over six days the cliff hunter trio travels 1300 km by car and over 200 km by boat through Guatemala to experience the diversity, richness and culture of Guatemala.
