LAAX OPEN 2025 – Olympic champs Eileen Gu (CHN) & Birk Ruud (NOR) win Freeski Slopestyle contest | FIS World Cup
The LAAX OPEN 2025 presented by Zalando takes place from January 14th to 18th. World and Olympic Champions, X-Games winners and former LAAX OPEN champions battle it out for the coveted titles. This year marks the 10th consecutive edition of this world-renowned freestyle event.
Friday was a perfect bluebird day with perfect conditions for the Freeski Slopestyle finals. 24-years old Birk Ruud (NOR), current Big Air Olympic champion and 2023 Slopestyle World Champion, put down a perfect second run in the Finals and was able to defend his 2024 LAAX OPEN title. In the women’s Slopestyle Freeski competition, 21-years old Eileen Gu (CHN), two-times gold medal winner at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, secured her first ever LAAX OPEN win!

The LAAX OPEN 2025 presented by Zalando (official FIS World Cup) hosts two sport disciplines: snowboarding (Slopestyle & Halfpipe) and freesking (Slopestyle).
Europe’s most important snowboard freestyle event takes place for the 10th time in a row on the Crap Sogn Gion mountain at 2,252 metres above sea level – on which the mountain station is emblazoned like a galactic spaceship, the GALAAXY.
CHF 210,000 in prize money is up for grabs for the best of the best but who will win out of Olympic champions, world champions, newcomers – about 300 riders from 25 countries are keen to finish at the top at the tour’s most favourite event.
