The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2024 came to a grand finale on 9-10 November in Sydney, Australia
Against the stunning backdrop of the Sydney Opera House and the iconic Harbour Bridge, 23 of the world’s best cliff divers returned to take their final jumps of the season
In the women’s category, the battle for the King Kahekili trophy was already decided. Rhiannan Iffland secured her 8th consecutive title with her 40th career victory in Antalya, Turkey. In the men’s competition, Aidan Heslop (GBR) won the title in a spectacular showdown in one of the most thrilling battles in the history of the World Series.Fifty thousand spectators gathered on the Fleet Steps near Mrs Macquarie’s Chair to witness the final dives of the season and celebrate the crowning of two World Series champions.
After 2009 and 2011, the Series returns for the third time to Athens, the largest and capital city of Greece, which also hosted 20 years ago the Olympic Games. Lake Vouliagmeni sets the picturesque backdrop for the long awaited season opener. The heart-shaped lagoon and so-called “Enchanted Lake” was formed 2000 years ago and is associated with many myths and legends. The first of four rounds is being contested directly off the cliff, as all divers leap for the very first time in the famous thermal waters.
