Snow Fest Innsbruck 2023
The snowboarders kicked things off in Innsbruck with the women hyping up the crowd first: Henna Ikola from Finland truly rode in a class of her own. She uses almost every rail and finally lands an incredible gap to frontside lipslide on the a-frame gap. Paula Benito (ESP) impresses the judges with solid tricks with lots of style and takes home the award for the
Best Trick. In the men’s, the final heats up quickly, trick by trick. In the end there are two winners: Pat Fava (USA) and German Leon Gütl, who share 1st place together. In third place, the Norwegian Øyvind Kirkhus completes the podium and deservedly earns the best trick award for his insane backflip to boardslide on the a-frame gap.
Finally, it was time for the freeskiers: Among them were renowned names such as Max Moffatt (CAN) and Olympic medalist Jeser Tjäder (SWE). The Swedish veteran and World Cup winner lands in first place with an outstanding performance all day long. Austria’s Matej Svancer grabs the Best Trick award, while Norway’s Ferdinand Dahl impresses with the most creative riding. Canadian Olivia Asselin took 1st place in the women’s, while local hero Laura Wallner (AUT) was cheered on especially by the Innsbruck crowd to help her land on second place.
