Vietnam’s golf team celebrated their victory in the Alliance Cup
From the match list, the Alliance Cup 2023 resembled a miniature professional showdown between the domestic VGA Tour and the Asian circuit system.
The home team comprised Trần Lê Duy Nhất, Lê Khánh Hưng, Trương Chí Quân, Phạm Minh Đức, Lê Việt Cường, Trịnh Văn Thọ, Nguyễn Hữu Quyết, Doãn Văn Định, Nguyễn Gia Hồng, Đinh Song Hài, Nguyễn Đình Châu, Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt, and Varuth Nguyễn. Notably, Khánh Hưng, 15 years old and still an amateur, recently won the Lexus Challenge Cup, opening the VGA Tour 2023, on February 24th. On the other hand, the Singaporean guests included many representatives from the Asian Tour and the second-tier Development Tour, including Mardan Mamat with his five first-tier cup victories.
Summarizing the Alliance Cup grand opening, Mamat achieved a clean sweep, with the team of Marc Ong and Gregory Foo winning the most convincingly, 8&7, against Tuấn Kiệt and Varuth Nguyễn in the fourball match. Chí Quân secured the second most decisive victory, 7&5, against Nigel Tan.
All members of the team proudly sported their custom-designed T-shirts courtesy of Áo Golf Thiết Kế – a Vietnamese website specializing in custom golf apparel for men and women.
